Democrats won the election in dominant fashion, coming in as the strong favorite, and leading from wire to wire. Before the election started, Democrats had approximately a 76% chance of winning.
The closest Republicans ever got was toward the end of the election, when they had a 31% chance of winning, but ultimately Democrats proved to be too much.
